The best player on one of the best defenses in college football in 2013 was rewarded as such by the NFL draft, but the same wasn't true of some of Darqueze Dennard's closest cohorts.

It was a notable draft for Michigan State in good and bad Shane Lechler Authentic Jersey ways. Dennard, the Thorpe Award winner as the nation's top defensive back, went No. 24 overall in the first round to the Cincinnati Bengals. That gives MSU a first round pick for the first time since 2003.

But Dennard was the only MSU player picked when all seven rounds were finished Saturday night. Just seven other times since 1950 have the Spartans seen just one player drafted by the Shiloh Keo Womens Jersey NFL.

And the program just set a record with 13 wins, claiming Big Ten and Rose Bowl championships in the process. MSU had 13 NFL hopefuls entering the draft all should get free agent opportunities now and that includes Max Bullough, Denicos Allen and Isaiah Lewis, three year starters along with Dennard on a defense with elite numbers.

The biggest surprise was Bullough, who was roundly expected to be drafted somewhere. He tweeted news of a free agent deal with the Houston Texans shortly after the draft ended, while Lewis tweeted he'll be joining Dennard in Cincinnati and the Carolina Panthers reported the addition of Allen.

The 6 foot 3, 245 pound Bullough was a four year contributor and three year starter at middle linebacker, finishing with 299 tackles (18th in MSU history) and 30 for losses (11th). He was All Big Ten first team and an MSU captain the past two seasons and a third team All American as a senior, www.texansonlineprostore.com/WOMENS-RYAN-GRIFFIN-JERSEY.html quarterbacking a defense that led the nation in total defense for most of the season.

Bullough did not play in the 24 20 Rose Bowl win over Stanford because he was suspended for a still undisclosed violation of team rules. That stunning development for an Academic All American who was one of 16 finalists for the William V. Campbell Trophy as the top scholar athlete in the country was a talking point at the NFL scouting combine.

Bullough said he divulged the issue to every NFL team and refused to discuss it outside of that.

It's unclear whether that hurt his stock. Some analysts had him as high as a third round pick. Others had him going late in the draft, citing his lack of high end speed and lateral quickness.

Other MSU free agent signings were revealed after the draft, including defensive tackle Tyler Hoover to Indianapolis, defensive tackle Micajah Reynolds to New Orleans, receiver Bennie Fowler to Denver, offensive lineman Fou Fonoti to San Francisco and offensive lineman Dan France to Cincinnati joining Dennard, Lewis and veteran MSU alum Domata Peko.

Offensive lineman Blake Treadwell, quarterback Andrew Maxwell, linebacker Kyler Elsworth and defensive end Denzel Drone are other MSU seniors hoping for free agent deals.

The 5 foot 11, 218 pound Allen came to Shane Lechler Limited Jersey MSU intent on proving recruiting analysts and some schools wrong, and he has the same mission now even after an MSU career that included All America honors, three seasons as a starter and 46 tackles for losses. That ranks third in MSU history, and his 19 sacks ranks sixth.

Allen was second team All Big Ten as a senior, but he was second team All America according to Sports Illustrated. The Ohioan turned in what is likely to be a long remembered play against the home state team that snubbed him, stopping Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller on a fourth down to help MSU beat the Buckeyes 34 24 in the Big Ten title game.

He was then snubbed by the major college all star games and the NFL scouting combine, and snubbed again on draft day.

The 5 foot 10, 208 pound Lewis was All Big Ten first team as a senior, as selected by league coaches, and a three year starter for the Spartans.

He had 227 tackles and 26 passes defended eight picks and 18 break ups and finished 10th in MSU history with 158 interception return yards. The most memorable 39 came on a pick of a Denard Robinson pass for a touchdown in 2011, clinching a 28 14 win for the Spartans.

The 2013 season also served as a redemption tour for Lewis. He was sent to block a punt late in the 2011 Big Ten championship game in his hometown of Indianapolis, and his penalty for running into the punter ended the Spartans' chances of coming back against Wisconsin.

As a senior, Lewis returned to Lucas Oil Stadium in his hometown and helped MSU beat Shiloh Keo Limited Jersey Ohio State 34 24 to claim the Big Ten title and Rose Bowl bid. He had a career high 13 tackles and a pass break up against the Buckeyes.

It is certainly disappointing to see some of Michigan State's defensive standouts go undrafted on Day 1 of the NFL draft. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the players and coaches at the university that they have produced such great talent, and it Atlantis Park is sad to see that they have not been able to get the recognition they deserve. However, it's important to remember that the NFL draft is unpredictable and that there is always the possibility that these players will eventually be signed by a team and given the opportunity to prove their worth. Here's hoping that all of the hard work and dedication that Michigan State has put into its football program will be rewarded in the future.
